gamevil has decided that instead of selling games at a fixed price that they would give the game away for free but use in app purchases to set a very high price on completing the game or advancing.
Someone ran the numbers for the My little Pony game, turns out it's like $100 or 400 hours to complete it, your choice.

Companies really need to get a grip on reality.
sad part is people will put in the 400 hours to finish it
I sure did!

Very few games are worth 400 hours of my time, My Little Pony certainly isn't one of them.

That's ridiculous. Sell me the game.

edit I just counted there are 60 levels total. It would definitely be worth some money. Not 100 dollars but some.

Not surprised, but it wasn't going to affect me either way.

So, we've joined a guild in Rift and we're both very pleased with it so far. Last night we tried to run a dungeon that the two of us should have been able to handle. It was a 23rd level instance and we're both 26th level. We didn't realize it was full of elites, and we got our butts handled to us. So we decided to ask our new guild for help. Bear in mind that we had just joined the guild the day before. We had more responses than we could use, including the guild leader! Three of them joined us, even though they were on different continents working on their own quests. When they arrived and we began, it was so smooth it was like we had rehearsed! It was also so much fun that the whole group decided to run another dungeon (this one was a 27th level dungeon.) This was a very different experience than what our old guild in WoW was like. We would never have received help on the spot like that. It was awesome!

I've never played rift before but it sounds like there are some real mother f#<<ers on there or at least your guild.
