Note:
Please not that this doesn't fix everything sms related.
It does however help reduce the error, gives you a more understandable error message, and has been known to help 3g reception.

This was a community effort,
While I did the research, The Sprint community at XDA figured it out, Chad Goodman did the original patch, Krowley3 moded it, and Jcfunk assisted with some of the backup and technical aspects. Several others others at Android Forums also tested, and helped verify that it would be at least relatively safe for us.

Warning
While this has been tested on several phones, nothing is completely safe. You do this at your own risk.

Prerequisits:
You need to be S-Off

How to flash:
Copy the file to the root of your SDcard
Reboot into bootloader
Select bootloader and follow the directions.

The original discussion of this can be found on Android Central.

Don't you mean Android Forums ;)

Working great here.

No, XDA's Evo 3d copmmunity is where I gathered all of the information and where the original discussion and troubleshooting was done.

Android Forums was just where it was tested for our phones.

Probably worth mentioning that this is the same file as the PRI update in the Evo V-to-3D conversion thread, in case anyone thinks this is a separate/additional fix they can apply.
