I entered
Code: [Select]
su

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14 of=/mnt/ExtSdCard/system.omg BS=4096

into Terminal Emulator, (Yes, it had given me root) and it returned with "unknown operand BS"

I typed it case sensitive, and tried it thrice.

Wat do?

The problem is that it is 'extSdCard' not 'ExtSdCard'.

Why not just use adb from the computer? Its much easier to be able to copy/paste ;)

Try it without "BS"

actually autocorrect just does that when typing normally and not in terminal

Nick_73,

I want to flash TWRP, but before doing that I want to backup first recovery partition,
so in case I need to return back the phone to vendor.
Do you know which block is recovery partition?
Somehow I adb into my phone and doing cat  /proc/mtd, but couldn't find mtd file ... strange
Btw, my phone is still in original unrooted condition.

No need. If you need to send it back, simply flash the stock recovery zip (freely available on the forums) it is a lot easier. Good luck!

Double check with nick_73, but I'm pretty sure the sprint one will work because the sprint one works with virgin mobile too.

The recoveries should all be the same. It's just the system files of Android that would slightly differ. But also Flashify will back up ur recovery. I don't know the block off hand

Flashify is only for rooted phone, right?
I have unrooted and the idea is to backup everything
so in case I need to return to vendor, can recover to original condition.
My thought to do this is to install TWRP and backup everything with TWRP.
Then I will root the phone and eventually change kernel, etc
If I decide to return to vendor, then I will restore original image using TWRP
and restore original recovery image also, that's why I need this original recovery image.

Bro, root with towelroot. Then get SuperSU from playstore and install. Then get flashify and backup stock recovery with it. Then use flashify to install twrp recovery image. To unroot, restore stock recovery in flashify, then choose unroot in SuperSU. Done
